If you like your coffee brewed on pot at a time, you’ll usually need a filter (unless you are doing the Keurig pot which uses an extra large k-cup). We kept an old cone filter pot for years as a backup in case the Keurig failed so we always kept a supply of those filters. Now we have a French Press for backup and a change of pace.

Filters come in different shapes and sizes as well as different materials. Be sure to get the one for your particular pot.
